Unlike our competitors, our repricer takes a model-based approach to maximizing profitability. It examines a broad range of potential prices, and at each price point it asks - "if we set the price here, how much profit would we expect to generate?" It then sets the price that would maximize profits. Profitability estimates take many factors into account, including each seller's unique costs and compensation for having to wait for sales to occur.
No. Our algorithm understands that high-priced items will likely stay in storage for long times. Such items will incur higher storage costs and reduce profitability, which our algorithm avoids. Our algorithm also models waiting as a cost. For example, it may value $10 expected next year the same as $9 expected tomorrow.
We encourage all our clients to perform a split test using their inventory - i.e. have our algorithm reprice a portion of their inventory, and have their existing algorithms reprice the rest. We provide a comparison reporting tool to help you determine which algorithm is performing better, complete with some raw data to help you audit the numbers.
We allow users to specify minimum and maximum prices for each listing. We don't allow users to enforce any rules beyond that. We not only believe such rules are unnecessary, but counterproductive as well. We've trained our machine learning algorithms to think like human beings. Rigid rules will act like strict regulations that constrain human creativity.
Setup typically takes about 15 minutes. It involves linking your Amazon account, entering your payment information, and entering your cost structures. It then takes our systems anywhere between a few hours to a couple of days to load your full inventory.
